Been listening to songs recently, since finding myself bored. I'd once ask this question, "Is Mandarin song worth listening to? Those songs were just so plain and lack creativity." Then I thought whether I should divert my music appreciation to English music genres instead. I definitely came across or hear english song in my life, but as the mandarin music industry was developing fast in 2000, I revert back to listening Chinese songs.
In the 2000, I could still remember singers who just stepped their feet into the industry, new but with the company's immense support and relentless advertising, Jay Chou, Jolin Tsai, Stefanie Sun, Elva Hsiao, Fish Leong soon scud through the air of music and won the hearts of many fans. They gain stupendous support and popularity, becoming what the media called "tian wang, tian ho", meaning Superstars in Chinese.
In the midst of the hoo ha, I got struck by the urge to switch on the radio once the clock struck 12pm, when radio station including the well-known YES 93.3 and then 100.30 FM. All these had make me astir of what and whose song is going to make the best stand for the week. This was exactly how much the mandarin pop songs had since make me gain impetus to listening to it, and also impinge me to cultivate a love for music and singing.
Coming to the year 2010, a few days after the death of late Mrs Lee, whom I have came to admire her for her amiable, capable and modest character, it seems that things have changed. I came to realise that the songs I used to like were not exactly the genre I prefer now. Maybe, time can help one to understand him or herself better, to pursue what he or she really likes or wants. Here, I am only talking about the music genre amidst other things are also beginning to pull up to reality.
Sometimes, it is really funny or perhaps ironic. When I was young, I used to be antipathetic to certain singers or more precisely, their productions. One instance was Karen Mok's. However time seems to turnaround things. Listening to her song now is a great relish. And accessing her songs make me feel that she sings real good, especially she puts in ample of true feelings.
This is a little bit of my sharing regarding encounters in life. How interesting?
